I DON’T hate him. Season 6 has been my favourite of the entire series. I love Matt Smith, I love most of his storylines and I love his writing style. So calm yo ass. Just because I don’t like one thing makes me a hater? Ugh, so I’m not allowed to criticise at all? Everything is sunshiney rainbows?
Hate may have be too strong of a word but the point is Moffat isn’t changing the numbers of The Doctor incarnations at all. In The Name of The Doctor episode itself, The Doctor says the name he chose is like a promise he made, possibly to be as best of a person he could be through helping people and whatnot. However, John Hurt has done something so horrible The Doctor himself refuses to accept him as a “The Doctor” so he’s not part of the numbering, despite him being a real incarnation. Just like The Valeyard is an incarnation of The Doctor but is not counted as one of the numbered.
